Just because you have Microsoft Word and Paint does not mean that you cannot make nice looking dividers! This tutorial will show you how to make a decent striped outline using some of the most simple and easy to use programs that pretty much everyone has on their computer.

First of all, open up Microsoft Word. If Microsoft Word is not on your desktop, click on Start on the bottom of your computer screen, then go to All Programs >> Microsoft Office >> Microsoft Word. Now that Microsoft Word is open, go to the top bar on top of your computer screen. On that bar, you should see that button that says Insert. Click on it and then choose "Picture" from the dropdown menu. After that, click on Autoshapes.

Now, from the list provided, choose a rectangle. Make the rectangle long and skinny, as shown below in the screenshot.

You're halfway there! It's been easy so far, huh? ;) Here is the part is gets kind of tricky. Right click on the rectangle. You should see "Format Autoshape". Click on that. Then, as shown in the screenshot below, find where it says "Fill Effects". Click on that.

Click on the patterns tab on the top of the popup and choose a color that you like. Keep the other color white. After that, pick the pattern you want. My selections are shown below.

Click OK, then OK again. You're practically done now! Right click, and copy the image. Then, open up Paint. If you do not know where it is, go to the Start Button >> All Programs >> Accessories >> Paint. Once you have opened Paint, paste your image, and save it. Finally, you can upload the image, and viola, you're all done! :D

Cool right? Well, that's it! Wasn't that easy? I hope this guide helped you make dividers on Microsoft Paint and Microsoft Word. If you have any questions, comments, corrections, or concerns, just e-mail me: missjenjen@live.com.
