Now that you found a reliable web host, what should you name your site? Naming your site is harder than most people think. In fact, I had trouble naming Aqua Neo! Some soon-to-be-site-owners have trouble and ask their friends what to name their site.

Your site's name shouldn't be too lengthly or short. Try to make your site's name short, but not too short. "Neo" is an example of a name that is too short. But don't make your site's name too long, either. "The Awesomest Neopets Graphics Site Ever!!" is a bad name. First, it sounds too cheesy. Second, it is way too long, and nobody would remember it. Third, it would be hard to get a domain for it. Nobody wants to type in http://theawesomestneopetsgraphicssiteever.co.nr. And try to have easy-to-spell words in your name. For example, your site's name shouldn't be: "The Ultimate Neopets Reference". The words are hard to spell, and too long. In addition, try to have a site that only has 3 words. If your site gets an acronym, it should be short and sweet. If your site's name was "Mystical Neo", MN would be its acronym -- short and sweet! On the other hand, if you site was named "Cute Rainbow Neopets Graphics", its acronym would be CRNG, which is long and hard to remember.

Should you put "neo" in your site's name or not? If you put "neo" in your site's name, visitors will know it is Neopets-related. But sometimes "neo" can get in the way of your site's name. If you want your site is be called "Frozen Blast", you probably don't want to have "neo" in it. It just messes the whole name up. "Frozen Blast" sounds much better then "Frozen Neo Blast". Many people have "neo" in their site's name, but many people say it is not original. Remember, it is your choice whether to put "neo" in it or not.

The last step of creating a successful site name is to pick 3 to 5 names that you like. Be sure that no other site has the same name. Once you've compiled a list of good names, read each of the names out loud. If any of them sound too strange, remove them from the list. Now, you should be down to 2 to 4 names. E-mail your friends, or ask some site owners that you know well, and tell them to choose the name they like most on the list. You should get about 5 votes and ideas to pick the best name. And once people chose which one they liked the best, choose which name YOU like the best. You should be able to narrow the list down to one name. This is just one of many techniques you can use to get a good site name.

I hope this guide helped you choose a wonderful site name! If you have any questions, comments, corrections, or concerns, just e-mail me: aqua.neo.admin@gmail.com.
